I’m convinced the Mutec Ref10 adds value to the EtherRegen, in particular when coupled straight with BridgeII using good RJ/E. [This audiophilestyle topic](https://audiophilestyle.com/forums/topic/59419-master-clock-for-your-etherregen/#comments) offers nice insight about extern clocks with the ER. I took the Matrix route. Although my (modified) MelcoN1ZS10 offers sophisticated RJ/e output it immediately became clear that the BridgeII was surpassed going AQ Diamond usb\>Matrix\>AQ Diamond i2S\>DS, so i dismantled the Bridge. Adding an UpTone UltraCap 1.2 to the Matrix was another nice jump up. Thereafter came the EtherRegen, with my AQ Diamond RJ/E into the Melco SQ-wise a nice step up streaming Qobuz and Tidal. Most recently I purchased a 6V Farad Super3 with SR Orange fuse, Furutech Rhodium AC inlet and upgraded DC cable level 2 silver. Connected the Farad (powered by P10 with Siltech SPO-18m) to the Matrix and OMG, wasn’t prepared for this one. Quite unbelievable what a really good LPS can do to the Matrix, this is a revelation!! Finally connected the Uptone to the EtherRegen which ultimately yielded another small improvement streaming Qobuz & Tidal. ---

I have recently added a Matrix and am breaking in the etherRegen both good additions to SQ. I also added SBooster LPS to each which raised the SQ again. Having some time on hand, I added vibration products to the Matrix and both SBoosters. Again, an improvement in SQ. I use Harmonic Resolution Systems footers and damping plates to good effect. I guess I will upgrade the power cord on SBoosters and may even go to the Synergistic Orange fuses having had good luck with fuses on my components. MarkH ---

Just got mine. First impressions are not sure … The high end is sharper than without, altho I gather things will settle down with break-in time. Things do sound different, although I’m not sure how much better … Gonna let it roll through the weekend and see how it goes next week, do some A/B. Alex was great to talk with so was encouraged by the level of customer engagement provided. He is very confident in the product. ---

Spoke to a well known and popular manufacturer, including PS Audio customers, last week. Told me about a new ethernet improvement product about to be launched. Can’t say anything, but may be this side of the New Year or very early in 2021. ---

I’ve had the opportunity to hear my EtherRegen in a small system I put together based on a Hegel H-190 and LSA 10 statement speakers. Same great results. The small system before the ER was nice but a bit edgy. With the well broken in ER in the system, music makes so more sense. ---

Well, Everything seems to change the sound. If we extend the allied USB Connection Criticism/Conundrum - Digital Itself Must Therefore Suck, because you can just keep improving it. What I think has gotten lost in the sauce is that the same is true of Analog. ---

Zero change. It lasted just about a month. For me it was yet another tweak that did nothing. I was happy to get rid of yet another little black box that needed DC. Another bit of gear that I bought and sold at the same price. Perhaps we need a library to check in/out these bits and pieces. ---

So far it’s an oh my god change for me. I am stunned and amazed and amused. It is so night and day for the better. I am so amused. Only $850. Fun. The first tracks I listened to are from Yello, their Zebra album. Punchy as hell, the soundstage is now made from Diamond. My oh my. It’s either real or I have a wonderful imagination. Plus or minus 1%. The boxes are small. There are no lights. When you plug the gear in and power it on the only way to tell if it is working is to listen. I plugged mine in and turned it on and went away. Before I left I wrote to the seller asking how do I know if it’s on, he said listen. He also said lights make noise. I hope he doesn’t tell me to start wearing makeup. The clock cable that came with it looks kinda mundane. He says it is decent, but a $1200 cable makes a huge difference. Sign me up. He says they are coming out with a new extra cost cable near $300 in cost. It’s just two little boxes. I know some kids spend five to ten grand or more on clocks. Anyway, never mind me. I am off to listen on everything all over again. I am sad this has no effect on my turntable setup. LOL ---

I just ordered my second EtherREGEN for May delivery. I’m thinking I’ll connect it to my router via the B side and run fiber to my current ER for sh\*ts and giggles… ---

Ooops, turns out somebody dosed my Diet Pepsi. Never mind. Seriously though, I have been listening for hours and it sounds wonderful. Way more body, way more control, and yet effortless sound. I know what I need to do. I need to go into the next room and power down the clock. To prove to myself that it’s my imagination not the clock doing the sound improvement. I just don’t want to do it now. Or tonight. Or maybe ever. But I owe it to you guys to do it. So here I go. [weeks later] Whew! I am so glad! I shut off the clock and came back to my chair and restarted the track and all the extra good sound collapsed. I went back and powered it back on and hooray, happiness returned. I guess someone else with an EtherREGEN needs to try this and back me up or call me a fool. It is under $400 for the clock without a power supply. UPDATE: I incorrectly stated above the clock could be had for under $400. I was confused, the price was and is $535. Mea Culpa. ---

I took a look at the AfterDark listing on Agon this morning. Once I got past the hyperbolic marketing schtick, it seemed like a good idea. I’m not a fan of the carbon fiber look, and right now, I’m out of rack space for two more little boxes. I’ve always enjoyed separates, but if I add this in, I’d have eight little black boxes to wrangle. Besides, I have a Rowland amp fix to burn in starting Monday, and Maggy 20.7s on order that’ll have to stretch out. (I’m just talking myself out of it.) I look forward to hearing more about this magic device.
