Its not just roon… from the website BACCH4Mac works with many…
I hope to work with Edgar to see what needs to be done to get Maestro to work as well.
thay would be great - if can work with Maestro/PMG512 in my setup will likely add B4M
I’m coming into this topic late. I’ve scanned the thread but have seen no mention of this: I have an integrated amp and a Grimm MU2 acting as streamer, renderer, end point, etc. That’s it. (Well, I do have speakers, a network connection, Qobuz subscription and a Powerzone 3.10.)
Can I run Maestro with the Grimm MU2, or do I need something else? If so, how?
Go into menu->settings and you’ll see a toggle for continuous play on/off
For playback I currently use Audirvana Origin, which plays my ripped CDs, SACDs an BluRay Pure sound music files from a 4TB external SSD. It sends the audio over Usb to my Strata mk2. As far as I understand sends the music bit perfect over USB as lang as:
I’m fairly certain this works perfect. The DSD bitstream is correctly recognised by the Strata.
Every time I open Maestro it says “downloading update” but is the same as previous version. 10.4.3 and then sometimes reverts to downloading update during use.
For local library, still only abour 80% and stopped
‘Sort by Title’ is def not in English Alphabetical order… starts with “Mingus in Europe,” followed by “…and the Circus Leaves Town” (Kyuss) and “Jug” (Gene Ammons) etc.
def shows how all over the place my taste is being neuro divergent…
Thanks. Most features, including continuous play, seem to work fine on Qobuz files–unfortunately it doesn’t work for me on local files (which make up 95% of my listening).
Would also like to be able to search for a band on Qobuz and then click to play a mix of all their stuff… if already possible via Maestro, am not seeing it when I do the search… enough for now am going to try to figure out SACD ripping from my s590 bluray player as per hifihaven… so far been a bust lol
I think I can now answer my own question, but would like verification, as I know very little about various protocols.
With the most recent Grimm MU2 firmware update, the MU2 supports UPnP. I’ve gone into settings and checked that option On. I should now be able to select between the UPnP option or the Roon option.
And then, if I fire up Maestro on my Macbook Pro (connected via WiFi), then Maestro should “see” the MU2 UPnP option?
Is this correct?
Thanks!
Did you install the black hole driver, and follow the steps I posted earlier? It is not difficult at all
Yes. Sorry I was looking for Qobuz in the menu and yes I was confused.
Thanks,
could you play album by album and random choose the next album to play in his integrity?
for me direct stream, is apple music from ipad to gain cell preamp! only iPad could play without downmixing everything and use a bluetooth keybord to manage previous/play/next songs!
so Apple music (or any other stream services) stream direct (direct, no midi, no anything) to iPad USB to gain cell DAC preamp+out to the Ps 300 = real music
and I use Mconnect app, for my NAS music
I am waiting until more stability to use Maestro on my iPad!
thanks now i understand the term enriched… meta data - not about SQ (gladly)
I’ve been making some significant progress on the local library front as of yesterday afternoon. To see it you’ll need to quit the app and open it back up. Make sure you’re on the latest version, 10.4.4 and you can check that in menu->settings and then scroll to the bottom of the settings menu.
Hopefully we’ll have the local files issue wrapped up and humming along nicely by Saturday afternoon. Thanks for hanging in there with me.
No fears, we’ll get that working this weekend.
Hey guys, I think I might have made some serious progress on the local file scanning. Any chance some of you can try again to scan your local libraries and tell me if it works for you? Much appreciated.
No change when I rescan, but my copy of Maestro insists that 10.4.3 is the latest version.
Restarting and signing in again still give me 10.4.3.
Just tried downloading a new copy–10.4.3 is what it gave me.
