Best sound when sitting in the kitchen!

Well…just look at the tablet as an additional toy to your “stuff”… you would be a gainer :relaxed:

Hey vsopking, my clowning around aside,

At the start of your thread I didn’t see a reference to your speakers or equipment.

Some listening spaces place speakers on either side of a corner aiming to a point somewhere
to the center of an albeit smaller listening area…or along the long wall and rearrange listening
space.

Perhaps rearranging the listening area…there used to be material illustrating this concept…
As soon as I can locate this I will post the link…

vsopking…

here is a corner set up illustration (not the clearest) but helps convey the idea…

link not good will try again…

this one works

Illustration on along the top line of drawings is the best I could find so far …might help
give you ideas…

Hi davida. Thanks for the link. I’ll probably buy me a small chair to fit in the kitchen!!

Kitchen is where the kettle is, that’s no bad thing
(My wife complains I am constantly in the way making cups of tea already, I can just see her face if I started sitting in there all the time (excluding perching stool I use now in there)!)

… and the beer!
But really it also depends on which cd I am playing some sound wonderful in the living room, others need the kitchen treatment!! So I am still debating how to spend my money: 2 subwoofers or a lot of cd’s!

it’s getting harder and harder to find replacement CD’s as time goes by…especially now as the compression “wars” are messing up our favorites (if they are even available or acceptable)…

i recently bought 3 copies of every BD/DVD/CD i own…since not having material to listen to is like buying a fantastic car, but with no gas available for it…(Compost Happens to the discs)

(the only streaming I do is in the bathroom :sunglasses: :+1: )

I mostly buy cd’s at the bandcamp site. Jazz & Jazzrock/fusion. The SQ is generally good to excellent. Lots of older cd’s I bought locally, do sound poor though. And I must admit that lots are residing in the attic, to old, bad SQ, bad taste

yeah, a lot of older CD’s are shy on SQ/FR…sounds like mostly just a rush to market/greed with with some, even with “legendary” bands…

Better spin a record. Although enough trashy recordings on the attic too.
