I had to send my StellarGold preamp in for warranty repair. Delia warned me to send it in as soon as possible to get it serviced before their week of vacation starting on 6-29. They received it on 6-16. I’ve received no communication from them since. My question is do they usually contact the customer when a repair is completed and sent out? Tomorrow will be the last day before the vacation shutdown. It makes me think that I might have missed the window of opportunity here. It would be tough to go even longer without my beloved preamp.
call them, best you could do for head up!
Think I’ll do that.
Patience can sometimes work against us. I too am wear of pestering folks and often trust that they are working on it. I’ve found that one or two pokes can help things move along. Hope they get it in the mail before PSA goes on break.
6/26; 3 days to go.
Tomorrow, Friday 6/26/2026 would be last day of work. Off Saturday. Off Sunday. Vacation/holiday starts Monday 6/29/2026.
Right. I’m just being a picky old fart!
My thankfully limited experience is that communication from repair is weak.
I have found that unless you prod you won’t know what is up until you get a tracking notice that the repaired unit is being returned–if you don’t get more specifics than that it indicates all went well.
This is my experience from several repair back and forths. I bugged Customer Service once. . . was just hopefully patient the other two times.
Tried to call the customer service line all day today and it always went to voicemail. But I just received a tracking # from them!!! Due to arrive next Wednesday. Fantastic, I’d pretty much given up hope. Hope they included a note explaining what the problem was.
Received my StellarGold preamp today, back from warranty repair. Being without it for a few weeks really solidified my preference for having it in the chain. I really appreciate what it does for the sound. Soundstage deeper and more nuanced, with better drive and fluidity. It’s like having a favorite pair of shoes back again. Just wish they had included a brief explanation of what failed. It would really be interesting to hear what they did. Everything seems to be working fine now and sounds great. I was expecting to need to run it a while to get it fully back to the level I had but wasn’t the case.
Crickets, eh? Expecting an explanation is not asking for too much IMO.
Call and ask after their summer holiday.
What else da ya want? got it, it play ok, they did a good job!
they rush to send it to you before there holiday, maybe, they were helping other customer to and this was not an emergency for them! to pamper you with detail!
if it work and got it before there vacation, least say thanks!
just saying, but maybe trashing for an answer you will have after they came back?
with respect, maybe it’s not the place to do that!
one of the last original north American HiFi company! try to have that kind of services from others compagny!
This is modus operandum. The only time I had an explanation for any repair work done. . . I had to get through emailing customer service and/or service.
Most times I KNEW what needed to be done and so it was not an issue. The one time I didn’t. . . I inquired and found out. I agree it would be more effecient to have a little note with the returned item, but does not seem to be a step in the procedure.
Just curious is all. Doesn’t mean I’m not thankful they repaired it and sent it back it a timely manner. This was an instance where it payed off to pay a little bit more to buy new with a warranty.
