DirectStream review on Hifi Statement (German)

#1

A new review on the DirectStream (in German) is available on:

http://www.hifistatement.net/tests/item/1538-ps-audio-directstream-dac-teil-2?limitstart=0

Conclusion is (translated):

The conversion from PCM to DSD in the DS is of great quality and contributes strongly to the sound quality.

What is the function on the screen DirectStream??? I've never seen one.

I was also puzzled by this, but I soon came to the conclusion that it was a montage.

Frode said I was also puzzled by this, but I soon came to the conclusion that it was a montage.

Wonder what purpose did they do this? To puzzle the owners? nerd_gif

Some nice pictures but for whatever reason my web browser, Chrome, isn’t offering the option to translate. So, some nice pictures and good to know the DS DAC is getting international coverage, but otherwise meaningless given my handicap.

If someone were to come up with a translation, I’d certainly be interested.

I have chrome without problems translate this review on Russian. So I have a better understanding. Try to copy and paste text here for the translation - https://translate.google.com

Thank you, Mihaill. But for whatever reason, it’s not working for me.

Joe, in Chrome - up by the Star that you use to favorite a page (top right), you’ll see an Icon that looks like an A in a box with an arrow pointing to another box. Click that - it’s the new Translation option. I guess too many multi-lingual people were getting upset with Chrome auto-translating everything, so they made it a manual click to activate.

I don’t know if http://www.bing.com/translator/ will help, but it gives a translation that makes more sense to me. Paste “http://www.hifistatement.net/tests/item/1538-ps-audio-directstream-dac-teil-2” (without the quotes) there.

Interested in my chrome is no such button, writes that although Chrome have the latest version of 43.0. Probably for the Russians haven't made a version of this button. blush_gif

In Chrome I press the right mouse button and choose to do the translation, but you need to press the right button to somewhere where there is text, if you press in some way or if the page had not fully complete the download, you may not translate (in the "right click menu" will be grayed out and cannot be pressed).

Eric, for whatever reason my version of Chrome (Version 43.0.2357.130 m) doesn’t have that icon. Thank you Ted and Mihaill I’m going to try both and between the two, something will click.

Jeez, I’m extra slow today. I just right mouse clicked the original German version while in Chrome and there was an option to translate the document. Sorry for much ado about nothing. embarassed

Just wanted to make sure that you did not miss the fact that this is a 2 part review, here’s the link to Part1:

http://www.hifistatement.net/tests/item/1510-ps-audio-directstream-dac?limitstart=0

From what I can understand from Google translation is that this two part review basically says; DS does a great job with PCM to DSD conversion and that it is also a great DAC!
