Sure?
If so, I didn’t know that Mac can see a network device, ala Metronome
I see that it’s usb port is for external storage, not for connecting to Mac

you making me doubt)
I’m going use it through ethernet, the same I used aurender. Worked well as default output for MacOs
Also didn’t know that Apple made its proprietary chips available to others like Metronome or Aurender
do/did you see Aurender in these sound settings on your Mac?
Yes otherwise i wouldn’t tell that
yes, I see now that one has to mount the Aurender server; perhaps this is what makes the Aurender show in Sound Settings as an output; I doubt that the Aurender has Apple chips (Apple does not sell parts for outside companies).
AirLens is not a music server (eg, Aurender with internal hard drives), it is ‘only’ a streamer (no internal storage, thus nothing ‘mountable’, the Metronome has a usb port for external storage (which may or may not be mountable in the Mac)). It appears that Metronome has no player software of its own like the Aurender. It also has no display like the Aurender.
Why leave Aurender? It is a streamer and a server with its own respected music player software.
Hope Metronome works out.
I sold n200 because airlens has better SQ with DS mk2 by i2s. More body and heft, not that thin sound like n200. AL has same detail retrieval but more organic
I also hope metronome will work for me…
The metronome company informed me that its streamer cannot connect to Mac via network or other wire/cable. Instead, Apple AirPlay may work.
We will see) in case I can use metronome for YouTube as airplay from Mac its more than fine
