Gryphon PowerZone the hype is real!

Nice, I have a psr 14 on my innuos statement.

The PCR should be slightly warmer than the PSR, which shows slightly more micro details. As always, it depends on the entire system. If you want to add a power zone or power strip to your system, I would only then start selecting the appropriate cables. Your Zenwave cable could also be a good choice. According to Dave and Audio Bacon, the PCR should be a neutral cable with a slightly warmer tone. Maybe it’s somewhere else in the system that needs more fill? On the way to a warm analog sound I would also look at Lessloss.

Greetings Andreas

Looking forward to hearing of your experience, Gareth!!

Having had a small technical problem with my P20 (oscilloscope card) and as the THD measured at the input varied between 1.2 and 1.4% and as the Gryphon powerZone was not available… I tested like Andréas the combo Furutech Vault and the V1.
The result is more than convincing: opening, dynamics in sharp increase.
I think that the P20 would be better than the Furutech combo if the THD at the input was higher.
I will still have to test the Schnerzinger GP.

A neutral cable is one recommendation, Audience Front Row is one example.

Nice, I have a couple of Vyda Koral on loan too and they are excellent. The zensati seraphim is insane, along with its price. It has everything, while not going over the top with the high frequencies. Ultra dynamic and correct tone.

One of our fellow forum members purchased the ZenSati Serphim XLR’s from TMR for a try he also lent them to me. I can say IMO it was not a positive experience. For under $1500 the Silversmith XLR is so much better. I’m not sure if he tried the ZenSati PC but I do agree the price was insane! The performance fell well short of the price unfortunately. IMO

Hello Fred, nice to hear that I’m no longer alone with the Furutech power supply.

Set your oscilloscope to test distortion at 1khz, as that is what the powerplants measure.

Was it the newer design or older? What part of the sound did you find was lacking? I had the silversmith lousdpeaker cables for a while. They are good but heavily focusing on resolution, not enough body and unnatural tone.

They were thin and unresolving. I wasn’t sure what model they were but they were all gold in color and cost over $4k used. They were presented as possible AQ Dragon competition and they could not best AQ Earth imo. Maybe @straightwire could come up with a better description of the ZenSati

To me the AQ Dragon is still one of the best out there performing well in actually every setup I heard, tested it.

Your assessment of the ZenSati was similar to mine. I tried, but I couldn’t find anything to keep it in the barn.

Really interesting. I have tried the authentica line in the past, LS cables and xlr and I thought those were on the thinner/resolution side. The seraphim pc could never be described as thin from what I heard. Its a pure gold layer on top of copper with gold plugs; but somehow keeps the resolution very high and has an amazing tone with super dynamics.

The demo was part of a quest to find the XLR that can come close or dare I say compete with the Stealth Sakra V17’s the ZenSati was highly recommended so we gave it a try. The ZenSati was not even close. Maybe not a fair comparison to the Sakra but I also compared it to AQ Firebird, AQ Fire, and AQ Earth IMO it would have placed last in this group. The source component is a Gryphon Ethos connected to a Diablo 300. I know you mentioned power cables so maybe the ZenSati PC is a different story.

I’m currently using the new and yet to be released Zenwave Kumihimo XLR. It’s really special and incredibly silent.
