# Magnepan 1.7i tweeter issue

I received my Maggie’s last week. Unfortunately, I noticed a channel imbalance. One speaker was noticeably dominant. I spent hours swapping cables and switching channels at the S300 amp and GCD preamp. No luck. I finally put my ear right up to the speakers and notice that the tweeter region of one just wasn’t outputing. I swapped fuses and tweeter attenuation jumpers, no luck. I do get some output if I crank up the treble using an electronic eq, damn.
Anyway, I have another speaker on the way. Is this common with Maggie’s?

Not in my experience. I hope the replacement does the trick for you.

Just wondering----did you try not using the tweeter attenuators?

I’m not using the attenuators themselves, just the metal jumpers.
