Very nice listing of Miles favorites leaning to the earliest releases. Going into the mid-fifties and seeing Walkin’ and Workin’ I’d suggest all four of the Miles Davis Quintet 1957 performances released from '57 - '61 on Prestige to satisfy and end his contractural commitment. ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/psaudio/original/3X/5/d/5dad0bccd0dc78e9dd097466d4d8ab78a7e0da14.jpeg) ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/psaudio/original/3X/c/f/cf04cd5ee41d73139d1d074750a5f9b7d6bee09f.jpeg) ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/psaudio/original/3X/1/a/1ae2098b4f8da69fe76a6351dbbb9da5faed9982.jpeg) ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/flex015/uploads/psaudio/original/3X/0/5/055d74a5a6eeca1ad17f7782a43fb689baf5d94d.jpeg) ---

I think Coltrane’s best playing was with the Miles Davis Quintet and Kind of Blue. ---

After about 50 years of listening to Miles I have a hard time choosing favorites. I came in through the electric Miles and then went back to his work with Bird and then up through Blue Note and Prestige. Following his sidemen led me into the universe of jazz from Jelly Roll to Ayler. I’ll take a stab at ten I could not be without.
