Not sure what you may have seen earlier, but the PMG 512 DAC is currently shown as still available for preorder.
IIRC it was available for in-stock order but that changed recently back to pre order only.
I think they wanted to get it in the hands of a few, so I guess you can call that Beta. But I think they are waiting for Roon certification before they sell more. There are bugs caused by both firmware and Roon cert. They would not be able to support a mass rollout without having roon cert. from what I am seeing right now. It would just overwhelm them.
Got a call from Aaron yesterday. PMG DAC on the way. They fixed the streamer issues and are shipping again!
I did get a software update late yesterday. played around with it. I tried a few odd ball things that got it to hickup, but it recovered. If you are a roon user def put in a sync delay. I did 3000ms. this helps the recovery from something it did not like. 512 DSD was on of them. The other it did not like at all was an odd ball file someone gave me AIFF 192/24. FLAC at that rate is fine. AIFF it did not like at all. hmm..maybe I should try a slower AIFF rate. either way I gave the feedback.
but overall they seem to have got it where the streamer now works better. Still no roon cert. but last week Jim at PSA said they have one last thing to fix roon shot back at them. Something with vol control. So it may be very soon. Prob. the October batch.

Ok I have had the new firmwares (both streamer and main) installed and gave a good listen tonight. Wow. This combo unit is really something. Again itās from memory of my APS MKII from a few months ago as well as the DAC only using A6 to feed. In both cases improvement. From MKII I believe this is a major upgrade. Spaciousness and bass slam is amazing. Loving what I am hearing. Super wide soundstage.
My PMG DAC is due Wednesday.Within 24 hours of installation I will post first impressions. I also have the PMG pre so I You will also talk about the combination. My PMG is fully broken in and I am very familiar with the improvement it has made to my system. Paul has stated the DAC will result in a much more noticeable improvement. If that is the case , I informed my wife that she might not see too much of me for awhile. I actually caught her smiling when I said this! You would think after 51 years of marriage she would have learned how to be a little more subtle.
Thatās a wonderful accomplishment, IMO.

Yes Scotte 1 it is an accomplishment as like most couples we have had our ups & downs but despite it all we love one another. In addition to being a great cook she has let me indulge in my hifi habit without any complaints which is great.
But plenty of arched eyebrows along the wayā¦I am sureā¦
Itās coming up 33 years of marriage for me in January and 66 years for my parents in November!
First time my then girlfriend (now wife) came to my apartment when I was a student, I closed the blinds, turned off the lights and said āsit hereā! I then gave her a demo of my audio system 
She didnāt make a hasty retreat and I proposed within 9 months (not inferring anything by that time frame). Best decision of my life.
Before I deviate too much off topic, PMG Pre is my next move as itās much older than my BHK Pre and I only upgraded my DSD Mk2 a couple of years ago.
Just over 33 years of marriage for me. I did not tell her about how much I spent on my system during dating until later, when she was too late to change her mind.

The PMG Pre - no regrets here! It is quite phenomenal the difference it has made from the BHK Pre. To some work colleagues - I have been explaining the jump in sound quality like advancing 2 product generations in the one go!
Iām looking forward to the Dac reviews when they start coming in - but Iāll probably hold off there until the dust (and defects) settle.
