Elk,

I do not own a P5/P10 and probably never will. I guess that I will always be a loyal enthusiast of the original P300. Having said that, the thought runs by my mind, teasing me with the idea of making a ‘regular’ multi-wave II card variable as well. It’s just a thought…a dangerous thought. FWIW, try to be patient regarding my enthusiasm. All these years I have been messing around with conditioners, regenerators, etc. and the local gang at the coffee shop seems have concluded my insanity is real. My team of psychiatrists disagree, however.

I’m an early adopter as well. I have upgraded as each new Power Plant was introduced, each time with a good result.

The efficiency, lack of heat and sense of limitless power of the current line is addictive.

@elk thank you. What MW setting are you using now ? I believe four is default.

I’m using the European Version (220 V) of a P5 and just updated the firmware with the new Multiwave features with no problems.

However I have a strange observation:

I can change the Multiwave settings through the setup panel without any problem but when I select Multiwave through the PWD/P5 IR remote (the one that came with the PWD MKII upgrade) the Multiwave setting is changed back to “0”. The phase adjust setting is unchanged. Switching to Multiwave / Sinewave through the P5 touch panel leaves both settings unchanged - as it should be.

I’ve also noticed that swichting between Multiwave and Sinewave does not have an immediatelly auditable effect. It seems to take a while before there is a notable difference. So far I’ve only used Sinewave and I’m still experimenting with the different MW settings but would like to know if other users share the same experience. I’m using a PWD MKII + Bridge directly feeding Nuforce Reference 18 Monoblocks.

Also there is no description on the phase tuning parameter (1-10) - unless I’ve missed it. Does anybody know what this parameter does ?

That one is about timing the regenerated wave to come closer or further away from the wave from the wall…

This way you can finetune your system in case you have noises due to power.

Does any body know in detail what the phase tuning parameter does and how do I decide which setting is best for me?

Yes and basically don’t mess with it. For 99% of the folks out there it won’t do anything or matter, but it can make some systems weird. The phase tuning is to help the software phase lock loop synchronize with the incoming AC better in some very offbeat power situations. These are very rare and this feature can be helpful to lower THD in these unusual circumstances. It does not affect the output waveform phase.

> but it can make some systems weird.

Is that due to micro currents that can travel between components through the interconnects? Maybe in case not everything is fed by the Powerstation?

My only question is. If after performing the update is the a setting that makes the p10/5

The same as they are now. And if so what is the setting ?

MultiWave setting 4 is the same as the old single MultiWave.

The instructions say to load the SD card upside down and show a picture (of a PWD) with the contacts facing up. My card would not insert this way. It did insert with contacts facing down and the firmware installed.

I was also able to duplicate kckuepper’s issue with the MW strength resetting to zero when you use the remote to switch to sine and back to MW. I think you have a glitch there.

I just checked. My link is the same as in the newsletter and is working, at least for me. In any event, Paul's works. :)

 Argh. Me, too.

 Very observant.

 This is the correct orientation.

Regarding the phase tuning parameter: OK, Paul thanks for clearing this up. One question remains: Should it be set to 1 or 0 if I do not have any unusual power circumstances?
