The bit I am confused on is what makes it a SW10
the diagram is exactly the same as the A8 pro including the same number of inputs/outputs i count 8 so why the Sw10 ?

MMM another A8Pro arrived at my place this morning followed up by a lot of SMS from one concerned Aliexpress shipper - apparently sent to me again by mistake - did the right thing and fowarded it on to the rightful owner..

Mine went in last night while still waiting for the Muon cable return did a quick A-B blind test with the wife and she went nah that one sounds better around the cello more air - it was the A8 . More detailed play this weekend
The dog just fell alseep seems her favourite artist Hauser is just good sleeping music no matter what its being played thru

could be the 2 master clock outputs

there are also clock, power supply, capacitor, and board changes, but yes, not 10 internet connections

bravo

From Alvin, the improvement over AS8:

Key Upgrades Over AS-8PRO:

  • All-new military-grade OCXO, featuring ultra-low phase noise better than -110 dBc/Hz @ 1Hz
  • 12x Vishay BC056 capacitors (vs. 6 on AS-8PRO) for greater power stability and filtering
  • Top-tier PLL clock synthesizer, distributing precise 10MHz to both switching zones
  • Dual 10MHz Master Clock Outputs: SW-10PRO doubles as a high-end clock generator with two precision 50Ω BNC outputs, allowing simultaneous synchronization of streamers, DACs, and reclockers. This ensures system-wide timing accuracy, reduced jitter, and enhanced sonic clarity and spatial imaging
  • Serialized OCXO test report (Phase Noise & Allan Deviation) included for full performance traceability
  • Vinshine Audio branding elegantly embossed on a CNC-milled aluminum billet chassis

So, it is an AS8 with Vinshine specific additions?

Allan Deviation? I’m not even going there!

The Allan variance, also known as two-sample variance, is a measure of frequency stability in clocks, oscillators and amplifiers. It is named after David W. Allan and expressed mathematically as the Allan deviation also known as sigma-tau, is the square root of the Allan variance.

How much for your sw-10?

Ha! That’s fast. I still need it for a couple of weeks, but concentrating on my next shot first. :person_golfing:t3:

I’ll think later.

Not named for Allan Angen? Hmm

I might have Chat-GTP that response to figure out what you just said.

Where do you think I got it from? :slightly_smiling_face:

That was the Google response to “what is Allan Deviation?” I suspect it was AI-generated.

I have pulled the trigger with the SW10pro. Perfect timing as I was looking for an isolation for my ethernet and master clock at the same time. It ticked everything I need.

I did not find any LHY SW-10 for sale in the used market, and there was one asking for $995 and it was sold. Beatechnik stopped selling them as of today. I think $750 is what I plan to advertise. Also, if you want FO, I have two Finisar transceivers plus a 1M Opto SM fiberoptic cable for $50 more. I am keeping the Opto transceivers and 10M FO cable.

This is a pre-sale, and I will not ship it out until I receive my SW-10 Pro. and I was told two weeks.

I plan to sell my SW-6 for $300.

If someone is interested in getting both, I can do $1k including Finisar/FO cable set too. Prices include shipping and is for cash transfer or PayPal F&F

PM me if interested.

I have an sw-6 now so I’d be interested in the sw-8 and the fiber cable to connect them.

Got your PM. Once I received the tracking information on my SW-10Pro, I will let you know about my regular SW-10 (not a SW-8).

Hi,

How about your puritan psm156? You mentioned you’re downsizing. Let me know thanks

Sounds good. Consider your SW-10 SOLD!

Well, I plan to compare it to an AQ PowerQeuest 3 for my HT first. The last time I tried it I did not notice much difference. But I now have a new 75" OLED and a Sonos ARC Ultra/Sub 4 setup. The AQ PQ3 is doing a good job, and I just want to see if PSM156 will improve more.

I also have a Puritan GroundMaster City ($300) that should be used with PSM156 together to get the max benefit. I am thinking $1,600 for PSM156 and $200 for City. To buy both I can do $1,700.

Again, I am not selling for sure at this point.
