New PS Audio speakers?

Thanks, then I’ll wait to see the final product. In terms of other options, some base like these, by Sonus Faber https://www.sonusfaber.com/en/products/sonetto-viii/ may give it a different feel and not as large, specially on carpet floors! Or some of these Iso Acoustic isolating legs might be an option… http://www.isoacoustics.com/products/gaia-series/

I do really like the look of the base on those Sonus Fabers. Maybe it’s time to bug Chet to mock up something like it on the AN3s.

Yes, as it also looks like lifted off the floor, gives it a more airy and lighter look.

Why not just design a product like this into the speakers now?

Man, I love those Focals. So beautiful.

Seriously, if I had the means, I’d have a pair of those. They would sound “good enough” looking like that.

My older Focal speakers don’t have the outriggers the new Focal Kanta’s have (speakers in the above video). I found some aftermarket outriggers at Soundocity. The speakers are much more stable with the outriggers. Maybe offer an outrigger kit as an option?

In terms of design, Focal and Sonus Faber speakers right now look the best. But none have the same tech and components going into AN3. I assume you may not need a subwoofer with AN3. Would love to see if it makes it to AXPONA. Anyone going? I just checked and hotel prices were quite high for the venue. Is there a discount code for the show?

There are hotels close by that are reasonable.

There are plenty of hotels nearby Schaumburg, IL (where Axpona is located); but frankly speaking: Try to stay in/ or close to the city (Chicago) due Schaumburg is a nice suburb, but if you will be visiting the area…Chicago during this time of the year is when starts to shine !!

From what I heard yesterday from the AN3s, you will definitely not need a subwoofer.

Music Room One is a pretty darn big room and we had bass to spare.

All signs indicate the AN3s will make it to Axpona. Obviously they will still be far from finalized, though they will provide a good illustration of what the speakers are capable of.

That’s funny…snowed on opening day of baseball last year!

I absolutely adore the AN3’s. But what will the cost of AN 3 be? The estimations started at US$ 6k a pair, last estimate I saw it raised to US$ 12k. I truly trust, with all those features and the cabinet construction it’s worth every cent.
But as PS Audio is voicing them with the BHK’s 300 and with Arnie Nudel’s initials this has clearly become a signature sound level and price tag. Taking the US$ 12k speakers to Europe, they become easily EUR 15k to 17k taking into consideration payment of the agents, our neat tax rate and the transport across the pond.
I hoped that the bottom line speakers would match the Stellar affordability price range. Will PS Audio considder trimmed down version of these speakers, a stellar speaker. Comprising the same drivers, electronics etc. no foot, no real wood side panels, a veneered or high gloss painted cabinet with an good looking aluminum grill protecting the sub woofer etc.
I.e. any sacrifice PS Audio could make just to make the same sound affordable to those for whom the investment into the Stellar system is already a financial stretch and as for me a once in a life time achievement.

Welcome Rudolf
I second that!

I also have been tracking the price of the AN3. In the beginning i also remember the $6000 price and thinking if it went up to $8000 i might be a player. If the price goes up to $12,000 it would be to much for me. Maybe they can produce a great sounding speaker somewhere in the $6000-$8000 range.

And don’t forget the AN2’s which were initially ballparked at around $20k. At the rate the AN3’s are going, they could end up at $30k or more, Now you’re in Maggie 30.7 and WIlson Sasha territory.

Paul said they would voice the AN3 with Stellar amps and the two higher models with BHK amps.

At the 15000 Euro price point the European market is saturated with seriously good speakers from brands like Focal, Dynaudio, Kharma, B&W, ProAc, Sonus Faber, PMC, etc, the list is very long. PS Audio has no reputation for speakers, and Arnie Nudell is largely if not totally unknown as Genesis and Infinity had little if any presence Europe, and if they did it was a long time ago . Moreover, branding based on a particular designer is almost unheard of in Europe. There is also the very important issue of resale values, which for PS Audio in Europe are poor as it is a relatively minor brand and there is no local support or trade-ins as are available in the USA.

There may be brand loyalty purchases, which is attractive to some people, it I would have thought a new speaker brand in the European market would be a very difficult but to crack.

Can’t resist, you meant to type ‘nut’ If not, I like your pun

Seriously though, I agree with your point. PS Audio has a lot work of sales work to do.

Chas

I was thinking butt and forgot the 2nd “t”
Seriously though, this is going to be as much fun watching as the Octave launch… no, the Octave will be more fun… I have a DMP.

I have everything, but a checkbook. My listening room has a 6’2" ceiling. So, I can’t buy the AN1, and probably not even the AN2. And please don’t suggest a new room.
