Fact check me on this, but a while back I recall Paul offering his opinion in a video that AKM produced the most musical DAC chips but lacked the production capacity of ESS to support PSA volumes.
I don’t remember if it was pre or post AKM fire and who knows what might have changed. But it’ll be interesting to see what products PSA has in mind for their chips and whether or not they judge the chip op amp to sound as good as their discrete designs.
