Crazy question…Can I power a P10 with a gas powered generator ?

I would only be powering my Modem, Router,TV, and some small accessories.

This would not include any stereo components.

Trying to get organized for future outages.

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Should be able to but here’s one thing to keep in mind. The inverter it uses to generate the 120V is probably pretty bad so the P10 will clean up the sine wave as best it can by a factor of maybe 10.

I do the same but I did not do a P10. I did find that any old UPS would not work. There are certain kinds you want to look for with a generator.

The waveform from a Generac (22kV in my case) is nothing like a sine wave, and my P-15 Power Plant will take it for a little while, then shut off all outlets, indicating “Short” (the outlet display also changes from green to red.) However, the P5 powering a router, LG OLED, LHY switch, and 100 watt LPS (for router) does pretty well, although I avoid using the TV just in case. But it’s nice to have wireless internet during the outage(s) The P5 has also shut down at times, but will usually work after a power down / power up while on generator power.

Have you looked at the P15 detailed display to see what the incoming THD is?

During the last (3 day) outage, caused by some severe storms it was in the mid teens

Yikes! That seems pretty high!
