RIP Steve Cropper

One of the greats! You’ve most likely heard his guitar far more than you know.
He was a master at simple, purposeful sitting in the pocket.

Huge loss. I saw him play with the Blues Brothers (original lineup 12/31/1978) and, naturally, his playing stood out. He also wrote (or cowrote) many great songs.

I wonder how much income the one song Green Onions made. Featured in so many TV shows and movies.

First time I saw Steve Cropper was in The Blues Brothers movie. I would come to know that he played on Green Onions. Of course not only was he a part of the Stax House Band. He’s played with so many other great musicians as well.
