Shanling transport

The Shanling SACD players do not play gaplessly - there is always a brief pause between SACD tracks. This is a known problem that Shanling has acknowledged and says is a hardware issue that cannot be resolved with a software update.

They are firmware that fix that I have both the transport and the tube CD player and I can tell you for fact as I listen to my Pink Floyd CDs, they are gapless playback

That’s good to know - thank you for the update. That was not the case when the SCD3.3 was released. Has the Onix Zenith XST20 also been fixed?

I too looked into the Onyx XST20 SACD/CD Transport to have something in my office back in October of 2025… but the Gapless feedback on SACD many had reported turned me off to it despite the advantage of it’s top loader. I instead decided to go all in on the Marantz SACD 10. Operation and Playback has been smooth as butter…

I have the Onix and the gapless playback is adjustable on SACDs - not perfect on a disc such as the Bladerunner soundtrack that ideally one wants to move smoothly and seamlessly between tracks - but not enough of a ‘gap’ to really moan about it. For all the other advantages the player brings price, top loading as you mentioned - DSD out the I2S or DOP from the other connections all leads to it being a good purchase

Well, I wasn’t going to take a chance with the Onyx as I do like listening to a lot of Concerts and Live recordings… It would kill me if there was a random pause on an SACD track. It would be too much like Vinyl with a potential Pop here and there. :grimacing:
