I have a Digital Link III and would like the coax digital output from my computer to run both into it and an AV receiver. Can I just use a 75ohm coax splitter or Y adapter to achieve this? Or should I use the digital coax output of the receiver and run it into the Digital Link DAC. Will it cause any problems or sound degradation? Yes, I know I could just try all these options but just wondering if anyone had any thoughts or experience with this.
The only 75ohm coax splitters that I am aware of are for RF frequencies, so that won’t work.
The Y adapter will result in a 37.5 ohm load on the source. While technically the improper way to do things, it might work in some cases.
