Did the speakers in the video just set on the stands or could they be bolted down? The interface between speaker and stand is certainly important, solid vs. compliant certainly can sound different.
One just sold Thursday, asking $12,500
Only played Dora Hall on it per the ownerš³
Thatās a steep tariff.
Depends on the speaker manufacturer. There are some who treat the cabinet as āpart of the musical instrumentā and who go through great lengths to select materials and fastening techniques that allow the enclosure to be part of the entire āsoundā of the speaker. Some do it better than others. Richard Shahinian espoused this philosophy. He was one of the ones (IME) who knew what he was doing in this regard. Actually much harder to do right than making a ādeadā cabinet.
I wonder how they pick a frequency?
I donāt know. I suspect itās a combination of a bit of art and science.
That reminds me of French cars. They donāt copy anybody and nobody copies them.
I just watched the video, and Ron had the only correct answer. Stack Audio sounds the best based on my own test on speakers as well as on components (a number of footers I used which were mentioned a few times in other threads). In fact, they made a very noticeable differences that most should be able to tell in a blind test.
In the video, Mark is right that cones are not as good as any well-designed footer for speakers. But recently I tried an old set of Mapleshade Megacones under component like MU2 (thanks to Waymanchen reminding I have them), and I was impressed. I have been using them instead of Stack EQ.
Josh sent me a set of four CSA 3 that I plan to use under D333 amp, but I will put them under MU2 again to see if I prefer the heavy-load Stack EQ this time.
Mark tried the Stack and didnāt like what he heard or he heard nothing, I donāt remember.
The improvement I heard during his experiment was significant and well superior to the Orbeas.
Has anyone compared the Live Vibe system to the Stack Audio footers?
OCD HiFi Guy did a shoot out between these two and concluded that the Live Vibe sounded better. Just curious if anyone else has compared them.
and what a surprise, OCD just happens to sell Live Vibe products.
He actually doesnāt sell Live Vibe, he uses it in his system and recommends it.
āOneā as in a Muon Pro? If so, someone got a bad deal ⦠thereās an extra zero there ā¦
I always wanted one of those.
Grimm MU2.
Has someone compared IsoAcoustics vs Stack Audio under components?
I got rid of all my IsoAcoustics footers in favor of Stack AUVA EQsā¦
Ditto! I just sold 6 of my Orea Indiago footers today. They were under my components in the past and Stack EQs has taken over for the last few months.
Ditto Ditto. AUVA cancels Iso.
