Thanks Ron for checking with your weights, etc., that’s a bit of fiddling. I won’t use the Riverstone any longer and I agree it’s defective and I’ve never thought the setup of the scale platform across the body was the correct way to implement a precision instrument. The Ortofon is fine and I’ve used a full manual scale countless times. I like the speed of the digital…if they are accurate. As I said, I’ll most likely be using the Neotek which I’ve had for many years. Hey it’s just such a catchy product name, Neotek…so Français et génial.
Ok one last thing I’ve checked the gauges over and over again with a 5 gram weight and of course the tracking force on my cartridge/arm/table. Both the Neotek and the Goka are accurate to around +/- 1/100th of a gram. The Goka is similar to the Riverstone except the weighing platform is factory installed so no messing with that. I saw the guys from SkyFi Audio using what appears to be the Goka in a setup video. Be calm and paranoid still! Here’s the Goka: Amazon.com
