Turntable cartridge opinions needed

I haven’t cracked open a TAS for eons, maybe I should. Anderson and Reed, I’m good with both. Lou for attitude, Laurie for pretension.

Hi All,

I thought I would let you know that the Sumiko Starling cartridge has been installed and all I can say is that I have never heard audio quality like this from a turntable. I am so happy with the choice and I want to thank you all for the help you provided to lead me to this final decision.

I wanted to close the loop on this related to the Luxman PX-101 turntable that I was restoring. The Sumiko Blue Point No. 2 cartridge, which the Sumiko Starling replaced on my main turntable, has been successfully transferred to the Luxman PX-101 turntable. Here are a couple of videos of the Luxman doing its thing.

Good point (pun intended) :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Looking at the service manual, there may be an adjustment I can make to rectify that.

I guess I know what I will be doing tomorrow.

Thanks for noticing that Ron.

That looks really sweet! What a fun device! How does it sound?

It sounds awesome. Not as good as the RPM 3 with the Sumiko Starling cartridge, but it sounds better than I suspect it had ever sounded before, given the modern-era cart.
