USB vs SPDIF input on NuWave DSD DAC

I’m currently have a DL III with a m2tech hiFace 2 as the USB transport.

I plan on upgrading my DAC to a NuWave DSD DAC and was wondering if USB-SPDIF converters are still relevant ?

For PCM playback, are there any advantages of using a high quality USB-SPDIF converter like an Audiophilleo, or have the USB issues of the past been resolved and USB direct is just as good?

Thanks in advance!

I don’t think the USB to S/PDIF converter adds anything since that’s already being done inside the DAC and, probably better.

Thanks for the info!
