Morning all.
By a strange twist of events, I am now considering buying a turntable.
Range 200 - 500 max, so probably going to be a Rega P1 (their new walnut model looks rather nice).

This will be purely to be able to reliably play the existing very small collection of LPs I have, and will not be buying new “vinyls” (as the young 'uns seem insistent on calling them).

I may yet change my mind, I really am not likely to use it that much, but it’s been fun researching available options, I did look at the Fluance ones too, they do look quite nice, but the name makes me think of “flatulance” every time, so I’m in two minds about that one

In the meantime, some King Crimson.

Edit, thinking about this, I should probably put this text in one of the turntable threads!

It’s a very deep ‘rabbit hole’ which I have managed to avoid…
so far!

Meanwhile, some Sting (being played digitally)…

Indeed, I’m trying to decide if I will use it any more than the odd record played maybe once a week anyway

Be best to just consider buying a turntable and leave it at that. One needs a sizeable collection of LPs…

I’ve probably had as much fun out of researching as I would actually using it!

I think it’s just a burst of nostalgia on my part, especially when digital is so convenient (now it is all set up) and sounds great

Watch this space…

John, a return to the dark side eh? Hard to go wrong with a Rega P1 in that price range. A return to vinyl will open a sonic wonder for you. Hopefully you pull the trigger. I assume you are set with a phono stage, etc.
