Hi Ray, thanks for the compliment. Being perfectly honest there’s no album selection formula, I usually pull albums out at random and play one side from each of the two albums that I list together.
With the lock-down in place I play albums throughout the day. I occasionally get blasted for listing too many – told that it’s not possible to play all the music I list, but, ‘I do’ play the music I post.
It’s always been about the music with me. I would rather play my turntable than talk about my turntable. If wasn’t for this excellent music thread that was created by Lonson, and all the like minded ‘music enthusiasts’, their excellent contributions (37,029!!) and welcoming spirit throughout I would be someplace else away from the forum.
Just picked this CD up at a used music store. Never heard this album before, but it’s now one of my favorite hard Rock albums. The recording quality is super clean and tight, and the performance is rock solid.
That’s a fantastic one. All the releases on Tom Wilson’s Transition are special.
yeah-great recording and happened to be a very good, close to mint copy for $7-
Gregorian chant - 8 Hrs for a peaceful sleep. My wife would really think I’d cracked if I started playing chants.
The Tom Ravenscroft shows on BBC Radio 6music have been featuring “pinch an inch” - as he’s been isolating in Suffolk at his dad’s gaff. The John Peel archive is of course legendary, it may even exceed your collection @Dirk
So he’s been grabbing an inch off the shelves of records and plays bits from them each day. it must be very cool to have access to such a large collection!
John was a great guy and I still miss him. He was always borrowing albums from me, seldom returned them, but what can I do, I could never say no to John because he was a national treasure … with my albums
