My mother-in-law has some Townes stories from back in the day. Apparently their paths crossed a few times in the late 70s early 80s.

Yes, I’m sure you said this before. Townes had a troubled soul! I read his biography, he had a dysfunctional life that started waay back in childhood. But he was an incredibly gifted songwriter - his songs were mostly bleak and dark….’just the way I like them’

Then they were two peas in a pod! Her childhood was not normal. She’s been involved and rubbing shoulders with who’s who in Southern California for many years. Alas she and her contemporaries are all in their twilight years, if not gone already. Great stories though. Of course, I’m never sure how much is reality and how much is the natural embellishment of stories of yore.
Regardless, a few hours and a bottle of single malt scotch is a good time. It’s when she comes to stay for weeks that it becomes oh so tiring.
