What are you spinning now? (Mark 4)

Cool backstory on this, the guy had a stroke and was aphasic for a while but still wrote music while in the ICU. This is the result. Interesting stuff.

The most powerful music I heard today were the 8m 46s of music played while those who attended George Floyd’s funeral service stood silently.

I also really enjoyed the 24 bit by RVG Blue Note Japan cd of Hank Mobley “Hank Mobley Quintet” (Farmer, Mobley, Silver, Watkins, Blakey) and the new 2 cd set of the complete Dexter Gordon at the Cafe Montmartre from Japan, “The Montmartre Collection” (Gordon, Drew, NHOP, Heath).

So this is the 1980s recording. Brighter, faster, more upbeat.
It’s good but I prefer the original 70s recording.
Nevertheless if you’re short of time this is the preferred version, and is very good so recommended

Back to the 70s.
Not part of “Drumming” but on the double CD release of the 70s recording of Drumming.

Less pure in concept, may e for the better - it is probably my favourite of all his pieces. Wonderful stuff

And another lesser known masterpiece from the boys of Swindon.
