Why vintage newly serviced is a no go for me?

when i see an ad, with newly serviced, it always sound to me like beware, crappy, and no go!

why?

  • to often, not really to the spec
  • for most technician, if it work it is ok, it like a Ferrary with poor tire to me?
  • Technician, very often, don’t respect the sound signature of an equipement, for them they are all the same!
  • when you ask who repair it, answer often vague
  • If it’s more original, it is better to me
  • If it’s mechanical, changing the belt, don’t change the sound, but changing a capacitor will
  • why pay a 1000$ for a crapy tape deck? if it’s not the one you use to have? what’s the point?
  • if you don’t have an HiFi gear already and media, why bother, but an all in one that show art cover or use a computer and a monitor!
  • if you don’t have media, buy an active speaker with all in? why have a lost of space for a roomy all piece?
  • I like my old record and my father record, because each scratch has an history and a memory to me, and I have a lot of them! but if you’re new to that, why buy new gear and search for scratch free vinyl (I think the question is the answer, you want to build you’re own history scratch!)
  • Vintage is find, if it all to the spec, not serviced and affordable!
  • most 70’s are a bit noisy when close to speaker and it is normal?
  • if you ear a sort of fall noise, some capacitor leak, but could last forever, just let the unit on! some of my vintage gear, were on for 40 years before they leak?
  • why a unit, that is on the shelf playing music is look they ad a car accident, what the owner did with it?
  • new Orleans disaster, fire in the west canada, river that load house with water will be the area for super deal on vintage, that will be resell as newly refurbish!

So if it’s new and digital, it’s good for a 10/10 and are obsolete 10 feets from the store or after 10 minutes of the purchase!

Good amplifier don’t need to be repair, except if they were beat up, or bad connection when there on?

most electronic you purchase will broke down in the 72hours after purchases so on warranty for repair with parts that still exist!

Electronics play better when always on, if you pay 5000$ for a unit, most invest a bit in electricity to have the best of it, a light bulb will blew when turn on, not when turn off, same for electronics

So why, the newly serviced worth more, if it was repair, so not taking care a lot, or very old and original parts not available and will sound different then the original!

so why newly serviced, that is not original, i pay more for?

newly serviced car, vintage car, worth less not more because the modern parts you put in, why it’s differents with electronics?

Why some company that worth nothing, but now are vintage have a priceless tags! If I have a candle or jensen electronic, should i expect a 2000$ price tag for it?

were the craps are we buying?

please explain?

why most of the store have a huge rebate on a priceless Focal speaker? that are often 40% 50% discount and could not sell them or are not taking them back?

And you, are you buying vintage? except if it’s was your college HiFi?

vintage is less than 20 to 100years old

Antique is more than 100 years old

Amplifier on the shelf unused broke more than an everyday amplifier!

if it don’t play once/ 6 month, you increase your chance of hasard!

hard drive after 3 month start to lose, so of there data, and there a mechanism that correct wrong 0 and 1 sequence on them, but if there are 5 years on the shelf, chance are bigger that some sector won’t work. Computer need electricity once per 3 month to be top shape, cloud are energy guzzler because of that!

anyway, do you buy overprice newly serviced? and why?

Just asking!
