PS Audio was uninterested as there would be multiple versions of the same code, only one of which it concluded to be the best.

In the previous discussion, the conditions were different. If the sailor is left on a boat or on a deserted island, enough water and food are also left. While people are eagerly tinkering with the mk2, psaudio has developed a secret project.
But if that boat does not have enough fuel to navigate…it will then hopelessly be adrift and lose its intended purpose of making headway through the sea of mediocrity…
I believe it’s of little use to look back on (leer versions of) previous attempts to improve the DAC. If you would want anything, it’s to disclose the development software as open source and have a go at it yourself.
I’m not sure many of us are capable and if Ted (or PS Audio) would allow us to.
this is not like tinkering with linux executable code, it requires a very specific toolchain and probably some specific hardware to develop on.
i’d be surprised if there were more than a handful of folks set up to do this globally.
also of course, the code is Ted’s intellectual property not PSA’s.
Hi @Paul, any details you can share on this buyback program, such as when it will be announced and how much the trade-in will actually be? TIA.
No, sorry. Our head of sales, my son Scott is on his way to Munich for the show and will be another two weeks. Hopefully upon his return we’ll get some numbers. Expect it to put a smile on your face as best we can.
Thanks for the update. Do you have an anticipated arrival date for the DAC?
Expected availability for the PMG DAC was still in July as of a couple of weeks ago, but maybe Paul has an update on that.
End of July, first of August. We are in production right now of the preamp
Yes, late July, early August is what we’re shooting for. Chassis parts are starting to arrive already, which is a good sign.
