Your Next Upgrade? (Part 2)

Stealth Audio sent me these cord descriptions :

The Cloude Grande is conceptually similar to the Dream 20-20: it also offers thick and RF transparent ground path, for the lowest electrical resistance, and complex multi-path geometry , but the implementation is different: we use flat conductors for both the AC carrying path and the ground path. These flat conductors are slightly spiraled, for uniform and omnidirectional flexibility of the assembled cord. Flat conductors offer reduced skin effect and thus promote full transparency up to very high frequencies. Each of the 16 flat conductors of the Cloude Grande is encapsulated in its individual, dedicated para-vacuum tube, and the flat conductor only contacts the tube by its edges. While each wire is very reliably electrically insulated and could handle over a thousand Volts, if need be, such geometry is absolute best when it comes to approximation of the ideal ā€œsuspended wire without any insulationā€ ā€“ to offer the lowest possible energy storage, resulting in the highest speed of propagation, which could be also defined as ā€œultimate electromagnetic transparencyā€.
In this respect, the Cloude Grande is unique and is superior than any other approach, construction or geometry known to us, period.

Cloude Grande Ag is 99.9 pure ā€“ combines the above features with the sonic attributes of solid silver throughout, end-to- end, including the solid silver contacts*** at both ends ā€“ to offer the ultimate finesse and delicacy of reproduced sound.

Cloude Grande Cu - is pure 99.9 copper. Will have a slight increase in price.

Cloude Grande LE - is a layered alloy - combination of the base Cloude Grande but given a repeated application of the outer base coat of heating and cooling of a combination of Nickel and Tin - which gives it a grey metallic look. Limited to 100 cords. Not featured yet.

Sounds like snake oil to me. All right thinking people know Cables Donā€™t Matter.

What about left thinking people?

Iā€™m left thinking but right brained and I think cables matter.

Tubes matter

Those people arenā€™t all right.

Day 2 with the Marantz Link 10n in my system. The sound is significantly better than on the first day. My system has never shown such high resolution with the most subtle details before. The spatial representation is very enveloping and revealing. My cat seems to like it too. If necessary, some adjustments can be made using other power cables. :joy: Although, by rearranging the components, there is still a gap on the upper level. Wouldnā€™t a Schnerzinger EMI Protector fit in there? The Marantz Link 10n also has a phono stage that is said to be quite good. A record player would also be an option. :joy:

Where Iā€™m located, yes.

The biggest improvement of my system happened withing last few days, and the only change I have made was that I visited this forum less and posted less. I had more time to listen to my system without distraction. Oh man, my system really sounds nice. I do not need subs, bass control device, and other ugly boxes. I still need a IC since I sold mine, and I am thinking another Fidelium XLR because they are so good. But I am thinking of trying SNA Takshaka XLR (their PC is incredible). But two Fidelium probably will have better synergy.

Another reason that my system sounded better this week could be that we will be flying to Japan in a few days. :grinning:

I received my second set of Fidelium XLRs a week ago. I havenā€™t noticed as much of an issue with the sound pre break in with these as I did with the first set. Sounds like I made a major component upgrade with these cables in the chain.

And I bet it will sound even better once you are back at home (as always)!

Great to know, and I will probably order another pair while on vacation.

You are right on that!

My wife is seriously planning our cruise trip in Nov. already. My plan is to tell her donā€™t spend crazy in Japan so we can save more for our two coming trips in late fall.

Since our cruise starts in Rome, would three days be enough to hit major landmarks before boarding? My wife is checking out the Rome Cavalieri, A Waldorf Astoria Hotel (we are Hilton Diamond). There is a nice restaurant called La Pergola (Michelin stars) looks great too.

I suppose the boarding will be from Civitavecchia arbor (Rome is not on the sea).

Really Donald, November is a bad idea, believe me. Iā€™m not kidding. Late September max early October makes a huge difference to enjoy the cruise, the places, the experience in general (and itā€™s safer too).

Hotels and restaurant above mentioned are ok, I can eventually suggest others more ā€œlocal styleā€ and less ā€œinternational.

Thank you. My wife has a plan with her friends in early October, and my daughter and I will join her after she is done with theirs. So, October is fixed. We need a couple of weeks to rest once we get home too, hence the late trip to cruise.

Rome Cavalieri is a big international chain for sure, and it came up during our Hilton search since Diamond members have good benefits. Plus, I have a ton of points. Since we are first time visitors, we may hire a local tour guy to show us around. But it is still early so I have time to do more research.

So sad to have you in Italy for a while without a chance to meet in personā€¦ time will tell, who knows?

A little early to post but what the hellā€¦I have over 100 hours on the Tambaqui now. I originally had it set to 6V output and just switched to 2V (adjustable via the app). There isnā€™t a 4V (balanced only on the Tambaqui) choice which I view as unconventional. Contrary to my expectations, I like it at 2V better. She is a sweet DAC. Yes fast but I guess thatā€™s what I like. Uncolored, very detailed, and silent. I donā€™t hear fatiguing at all, the opposite. Big 3D soundstageā€¦the gummie helps. She does run pretty hot, Iā€™ll keep it on 24/7. Her looks donā€™t hurt!

Last thought, as I have climbed up, it takes less volume for the magic to happen
