Born with mild Cerebral Palsy then went to first ever Special Ed class in the state of Ohio. Worked hard in school to the tune of 10 years in college, Tutored at a disabled students center for 10 years then worked for what used to be the Orange County California branch of The Association for Retarted Citizens where I had 2 jobs. I taught Developmentally Disabled Adults while I rook care of a 50 desktop Lan with a HP Server, VMware, DC, BDC, Exchange, SQl…… Left as IT director. Yes I was the only IT personel.
I became interested in HIFI when I was 13… subscribed to Stereo Review and tried to learn all I can. I ended up selling car stereo when I was about 17 that morphed into my family producing speaker enclosures for cars for about 7 years. I used to go into Pacific Stereo Paul mentions and listen and learn. One of the few stores I have ever ran into where there were actually knowledgeable sales people. I worked for Display americraft which was owned by James Parkin who has previously founded Jet sound electronics and some subsidiaries. Soon after that I went to work for Professional Audio Systems when they were in Harbor City CA. They made many speaker components, drivers and enclosures, for themselves as well as OEM-ed for many other companies. Larry Doran, the owner, had worked as an Engineer for Altec Lansing when they were on Manchester in Anaheim. I got to design my own 12 in drivers when I was there. Alan Sohl the engineer thought I did a good job.
That’s probably way TMI but there you go
