74 yo retired neurologist, retired to Steamboat 2004 for skiing, biking mtn. biking. Also spend part of each summer racing gliders. Interest in hi-fi began in US Army when I was in charge of local H-ifi club (1967) back at the beginning of the 1st wave of solid state (perfect specs forever). Been through many iterations of low to mid-audiophice equipment over the years, including a long infatuation with tubes ( Sonic Frontiers Line 3 and Power 3, some small Cary tube amps). Am a Martin Logan fanboy (CLS II’s for years and now Odysseys). SOTA star vacuum turntable, micro benz lo4 and many records. Always restless with lack of depth, soundstage and especially the edginess of CD. But I keep trying and here I landed with PS PWT and PWD MKII. I listen to a lot of classical, esp. chamber music but also have a fairly large collection of early rock. No experience yet with hires media. I got bored with the same old stuff in audiophile around the turn of the (21st) century and quit reading. What an overwhelming surprise I was in for when I began to look again recently. The computer audiophile world and vast, meaningful strides in the digital world are fascinating and daunting. I’m having a ball trying to understand.
