Wait, @aangen Al must have tried it by now
Nope. $214,000 is my limit.
I saw a post regarding this Dac on a UK forum and posted the following.
āIt reminds me of a well known song title - Money for Nothingā.
I could see spending $216,000 on a cable or a power strip. But a DAC? Itās just ones and zeroes!
You know I would buy this DAC. . . if I were to win the Powerball.
A Z06 corvette is actually cheaper.
Thatās the reason why many lottery winners end up going broke.
I donāt need either. . . probably would prefer the DAC to the Vette.
Indeed. But I have a wife who would not let THAT happen.
The 200 plus K components are being marketed to the ultra rich who donāt have to think twice about dropping that kind of money on non essential purchases. Itās also a Big dog move by the company, in order to bolster their dominance in the marketplace. MSB was the Big dog of DAC manufactures until DCS decided to one up them.
Having once long ago, owned both, the Vette is better.
I am more of a Hyundai kind of guy.
Except for audio.
Iām much more of an audio guy than a car guy. A 'sixties Alfa is my idea of a dream car.
Wonder if it comes with any ācourtesyā cables?? Cuz youāre prob gonna need 100k in Transparent cablesā¦.
Since we are speaking of Vettes and DACs. lol
My prediction coming from my own experience with DCS
DCS Varese $216K cost and promise of a 1064hp C8 Corvette ZR1.
Reality: *Excitement and performance of a Z71 Chevy Tahoe
*Again my own opinion Iām not a professional reviewer and I have not heard the DSC Varese. Iām sure itās a great sound DAC but Iād rather buy a condo somewhere warm for the winter.
Iāll wait and get one used for $160,000 and avoid the sales tax.
Make sure you pay via PayPal friends and family.
Add another 150K at least for the 5 premium power cords and cabling, oh and I almost forgot, the footers for all 5 boxes, but by now you might be a little strapped so might have to settle for bicycle inner tubes.
You will only need power cords. The interconnects are proprietary. This time around, dcs has made it just a bit easier to setup.
Yes. They will have a transport for about 50-60k, if I recall correctly.
