An (Highly) Overlooked Room Treatment

i find my (overhead) Casablanca Fan has an added value as a Ceiling/Room treatment to tone down (overly) reflective treble…

mine is about 4’ in front of my listening position…

Another Casablanca is about the same distance in front of my speakers, to cool down the multiple mono, stacked amps as well

aside: when i increased the speed setting (1 - 6) from 1 to 2 and also more so on 3rd setting faster, when needed, the “ease” of listening was enhanced…(Sorry air conditioner is too cold to go faster)

Extra Flexibility {and easier to justify for any spending on The hobby}…

You sound like a true fan of audio! Couldn’t pass that up. :drum::drum::drum:

Yeah, the white noise produced by the fan going faster, hid some of the fine details of the audio, making it sound warmer.

actually, on the 1st to the 4th speeds, there is no wind noise…

but, does have an effect on overhead reflections. reminiscent of using Baffle Step Compensation (BSC)…

Just a matter of time now before someone releases a remote controlled audio grade ceiling fan.
Of course the blades will come in different materials and shapes to help tune the fan to your system.

@Audioholic Direct or belt driven?

oh yeah, it has (fixed position, tilted) wooden blades with “wingspan” of ~4’ in diameter…

come to think of it…i wonder if that wonder-fan could also sport adjustable tilting of the blades
