Balls vs bubbles

All of my “precision” bubble levels have been replaced by ball bearings.
What I once thought was level for my turntable was hardly level according to my balls.
Remove the platter mat and give a ball bearing a try.

Great, something else to dial in :slightly_smiling_face:
Hope we don’t get into tweaks, ya know, titanium alloy vs 316 stainless reaction times…

Best,

…or porosity…?

Oh my. Going to be spending all my listening time attempting to keep a ball bearing stationary on my TT platter, my TT being a fully suspended SOTA. Not a bad idea, mind you. But think I’ll stick with my bubble level with its tolerance line for the sake of my sanity.

shhhhhh—the best balls come out of unused Campagnolo bottom brackets. Keep it to yourself.

Normally I’d expect pictures in a hardware-related thread, but in this case less is better.
I assume the platter was not spinning when you did this.
