Connect a Powerplant 12 to a Powerplant 12

The PS Audio Regenerator 12 has a dial on its home screen that shows improvement on a scale from 1x to 100x. Typically they show around 10+x. Has anyone hooked up a PS Audio 12 to a PS Audio 12? I’d expect to see the improvement of 10x on the first unit & 1x on the second. If the second shows 10x that would lead me to believe that the meter could be just pasted onto the unit.

Welcome to the forum! I’m not the expert but I’m pretty sure connecting a power plant to another power plant is frowned upon and not recommended. Maybe @jamesh or @Paul could chime in. I’d recommend keeping them plugged into the wall outlet and if you have two use separate circuits. That would be my 2 cents. Good luck!!

I wasn’t suggesting this as a long term plan. I just would have more confidence in the Improvement measure if it was different before & after another Powerplant.

The measured incoming distortion is just that. I have found the P12 to be honest. At my current location the incoming distortion is 0.8 to 0.9 percent. When I had brought my P12 to a different location it read at either 8 or 9 percent. I will upload a current photo and a screen cap of a previous photo.

It’s definitely changeable, I normally have 0.1% out but on very rare occasions see 0.2%. When the regen boards of a P10 get past their best one can see all sorts of different values.

Actually, it is not frowned upon because it definitely works. But, not many people do it because of the added expense.

I wish someone would do it and show the meters. Fun idea!

It would be a simple and fun thing for PSA to do at the factory. And that would likely generate some sales.

Wise, very wise. I’m sure Paul would be up for it.

I was wrong again as I am many times on this forum. For some reason this came to mind.

I tried connecting a P15 to a P20 last year when I had problems with the former (buzz from transformer). I don’t remember the exact THD IN values on the display but I perfectly remember a significant drop (it works as expected, obviously).
I did the experiment in agreement with the PSA staff to understand whether it was possible to reduce the noise in this way or not. It was fun.

I’ll pick up your P20 when it gets replaced by the power zone and we can try it out!

If not too much trouble, I, for one, would enjoy some unboxing photos.

Enjoy.

And when the Gryphon Power Conditioner arrives I WILL NOT use Stealth power cables with it. I have Gryphon Vanta power cables for it. Mmmmmmm.

Hard to find a winner here…

The Gryphon Vanta cables are within 97% of the performance of the Stealth Cables. Sadly, they are way lower in cost. I have been keeping this a secret.

(Power cables only, I have no experience with Gryphon Vanta interconnects. But @1cdfoley does.)

Heresy!
