Thanks. I know it’s hard and admire and appreciate people’s feelings of not wanting to ever take advantage of something - I get it. But perhaps together we can figure out a way to work around these feelings are accommodate them towards the end goal of making people feel comfortable with trying equipment out in the home to see if the fit is good. I cannot imagine any other way of doing this.
Paul McGowan saidI like a certain kind of grapefruit: Pomellos. They are amazing . . .
Next step: pomelo oleo saccharine - do something with all of that peel. Just substitute pomelo for lemon in the recipe. It has a wonderful flavor. When you’re trying to sell someone on a pomelo, just don’t tell them it’s like a giant sack of swollen, juice-filled hairs! Instead, tell them that it’s one of the original citrus species and is the ancestor of grapefruit.
Paul convinced me to give it a try … preamp on order! Will report back in a few weeks what I think of it.
Peanut Butter, I don’t think your description helped at all … “it’s like a a giant sack of swollen, juice-filled hairs”. Ewwww
After crawling through the BHK forum posts, it seems that there are systems that are improved by it (relative to DSDAC direct into amps), and other systems that are not much improved.
I’m struggling with the decision on the try-it-you’ll-like-it deal on the pre-amp, and it seems to me that the biggest factor in improvement or not may be the amplifiers used. I have a pair of Parasound JC-1’s driving my Apogee panels with balanced cables, and I’m wondering if anyone else has used the pre-amp replacing direct connection to the JC-1’s? Experience with these amps, anyone?
