The fact that all the wires in a ribbon cable aren’t the same distance apart from every other wire in the cable is a problem I wanted to avoid.

Galen - it sounds from this as if you are talking about a cable with a flat arrangement of multiple strands, like some of the Nordost cables. I think what is being referred to here is a single, thin ribbon encased in some sort of plastic:

You’ve answered my questions, so all good. My Transparent References served me well for years as well, but time moved on. Lotta good cables out there these days.
