But, once again, we are not going to discuss politics and any country’s efforts to address COVID.
Everyone posting knows where the lines are drawn. Please do not cross or dance on any of these lines.
As I have mentioned multiple times previously, if you want “an open and uncensored discussion” about these topics with anyone here, send them a PM and discuss away.
The reason for wanting to speak with miss [sic] Swift is that she is the only one who has successfully kicked Spotifys [sic] ass
The only one
I think she could give us good advice
This isn’t over
Posturing or not, I guess we’ll see if it goes anywhere. On a question of scale, though, Young and Mitchell (and to a slightly lesser extent, Nash) are effectively tilting at windmills, IMO. They may be musical giants, but they’re giants of my generation, which is vastly outnumbered in the marketplace, especially when you throw into the mix those Spotify customers who are there for non-music content.
It’s not going to matter until sponsors/advertising start pulling out. Artists are narrow slices of the pie. Sponsors have much more reach with Exec’s.
Well said—several of you. My thought is should we keep Joe Rogaine ( ) on Spotify, where it is easier to keep track of him and where there may be folks to keep him civilized and honest—or should we boot him to the dark side and let him run with the uncivilized crowd?
While I don’t agree with his view of Covid from his privileged isolated safety, I
can’t help but wonder how many who have taken a position on this actually listen to Rogan’s show. His guests run the gamut from fighters, to comedians, to AI experts, to nutritional researchers. Anything he’s curious about or interested in. If he has a social/political theme, it’s canceling by the left (which I unashamedly am), which is why he will at times have the likes of Alex Jones on his show. He has also had guests who speak to the importance of vaccinations. And he’s the first to say don’t get advice from him. It’s like all those who hate Howard Stern who never heard his show either.
How many of the 270 doctors actually heard what Joe Rogan said instead of what a guest said, or worse yet, what someone else said he said? I would bet dollars to donuts Neil and his friends haven’t listened to the show. I look at who the guest is, make a choice, and will continue listening to a few hours of Dave Chappelle or Jim Gaffigan or Dr. Rhonda Patrick while putting about in the yard or garage.
I listened to Rogan very often before he moved to spotify. There was a significant shift in his views quite literally overnight when he was on spotify, and that for me apart from the more radical content was why I stopped listening.
