I have a beautiful PS Audio set up that sound wonderful
but lately I found my college year integrated
The most hifi Is the PS Audio
But my old college choice as a little quelques choses more that brought so many feeling, heaven wife seems to prefer it
if you only want to keep one which one you go?
The best answer I have is: if you can, keep them both, especially if the wife loves the older one. Set up a little system that you two can enjoy together at times. That has been a good answer to a problem at my home–my wife finds my main system too complicated for her to operate, even with my written step by step procedural document, and I gave her a Bose cd player thing that doesn’t sound too bad for her to operate in the kitchen or her office, and my audio/visual system in the living room (main system is upstairs) she can operate and enjoy as well.

I sort of realize with my new unit
I am more kind of more the “Sprout” side unit, All in one, Then Stack of unit Amplifier preamplifier digital analog converter power generator etc.
I’ll probably will put everything for sale, It’s too complicated music management for me
I was wondering if I was the other one
I started, with no previous real hifi experience, believing I wanted accuracy but learned that I prefer feel. But I also found that feel can be elusive and had more to do with my mood and the quality of the recording.
for me it all started after going to live show!
and watching the making of Kiss Alive and the overdub they did on it!
A friend of mine have 100 recording that he listen all the time. He knows everything about those recording: chair cracking, false not, throat in the first row, glass of beer in back stage. For 30years it always those record he listen, when he purchase a new one, it is always a reference sometimes pricey $$$, but he change HiFi more often than he buy music!
For me, it is more music discovery, I keep adding favorite in my music streaming app, so random play make me discover music and music and music!
I really connect with some great live album, that have lot of feeling. But often, I will be very disappointed, when for streaming they proceed to polish and they loudness the record. The original recording loose all the gloss of the original album have.
For this reason, I withdraw my favorite album from my streaming app, only new stuff, and basically listen that in tha car or when ppl visiting. 2 times a week, I have discovery night listening internet radio or streamer with shazam and I took note for my next visit to record store where I dig to find the original.
so for me it is a more matter of a feel, than HiFi
what I like the most, is jazz band live in Bar or BigBand live!
Interesting. I understand the attraction of live music but, with the exception of The Eagles Hell Freezes Over, I don’t like many live recordings because those I’ve heard are more wall of sound. Maybe I’m listening to the wrong genres and/or live recordings.
Accuracy can be an elusive beast to chase. Not only does it require quality and synergy in components, it will still vary according to the recording. I don’t mean just whether the recording is high quality or not, but whether it’s a recording of an acoustic artist/ensemble in a real space, or a manufactured “multi-mono” studio production. Or a live, but still amplified, group on stage. That in turn raises the question of just what it is you want to replicate with your system in the first place with any given performance - a living room, a recording studio, a simple stage, or a rock concert. Or one of any number of other environments.
In my case, I strive for accuracy in tone, timbre and texture of acoustic instruments in an unamplified space. If I get that, I’m thrilled with 80% of the recordings I listen to, and if that combination of equipment doesn’t convincingly reproduce a Grateful Dead show, I’m ok with that.
