How is Octave Records' sound editing accomplished?

So when audiophile labels like Mobile Fidelity and Analogue Productions produce their SACDs are they simply transferring the master tape from the console to DSD in one shot with no editing or are edits required? What constitutes an edit being required? Is simply making the track numbers on the disc an edit?

If it is a single live take sort of recording, just fade up and down top and tail - which could be a very short transition in each case. But it could go on from there, into all the usual sorts of operations that might be needed.

Track numbers are not part of the audio data. They are markers which Scarlet Book players know to interpret as tracks.
