many of the pieces are almost totally presented to left side of stage and drums are almost non-existent in relevant pieces (except for Rocky Mountain Rain – exclusively a drum set superbly presented with about the best cymbals in the business)
same result with both SACD (Oppo 205, analog out) and DSD256 local-file stream (AirLens/DAC)
something else unwelcome…the left/right channels are noticeably reversed regarding drum kit (eg, high hat should be out of right speaker, at least for most drummers, whose high hat is on their left) and orchestra sections (violins should be on left and deeper strings on the right)
there are similar issues with the dozen+ purchased Octave Records releases; while SQ is generally fine, many questions about mixing/mastering; similar issues noted with the various streamer/dac combinations I have
99%+ of ‘songs’ span the stage usually and I have confirmed with speaker testing albums and decibel meter that my system is working properly
