Batch transcoded? How does that process work versus ripping?
Does it save lots of time?

I already ripped everything from CD to WAV or FLAC, so it should be bitperfect. From files at rest on the N+ via 1gb ethernet – transcode to DSD with 16 threads, it took ~1.2 hrs to convert ~900 files.

Thanks, that’s an average of 10 files per minute, fast. Does a file contain an album?

guys sorry to interrupt the DSD transcoding discussion here, but would it be possible to have separate thread for that topic? This should stay focused to Matrix i think

Thank you.
Do you know how much it is for 1m, or 0.75m ?
Not clear to me on the website.

Yes,it’s quite clear. For custom lengths call or email us and we will send you a PayPal invoice. Ask them.

Has anyone compared the RAL hdmi to the Audioquest diamond hdmi ?

I ised his Audiogon store front and it allows you to make an offer. It is easy to get him to accept less. But still a long wait. I ddoubt sale price means much in his fulfillment scheme which is take customers money first and fill orders slooooooooowwwwwwlllllllllllluyyyyyyyyyy.

Good question. I like to know the answer to that one myself.

Hi all,
I’ve been following some of this thread from time to time … and eventually I spotted a used Matrix X-SPDIF 2 for sale. I grabbed it and it arrived yesterday. I ‘m now a Matrix member!
I have MacBook Pro running Roon (vintage 2013) feeding the Matrix and feeding the DS (Sr) and feeding the BHK Pre and BHK 300s. (And B&W 800 Diamonds).
I must admit - even without an external power supply - the difference surprised me.
More liquid, timber, space between instruments - and some more depth. All minor in their own right - but added together - make for a noticeable improvement. Well worth the money.
I’m still playing around with switches - and Roon settings as I can’t seem to get DSD (DoP) files playing. No doubt - user error I would imagine.
Anyway - back to the music and looking for LPS options.
Cheers

Kevin

Nice choice of speakers  (800D2s here)

 Welcome to the club!

:+1: Same here! (Plus some B&W subs )

I had a similar epiphany! A good LPS will also reward you! FWIW, I bought an Uptone LPS to start with and got a noticeable improvement but, after all the chatter here about the Farad Super 3, I replaced the Uptone with a Farad and was not disappointed with yet more improvement. A good HDMI cable (for an I2S connection) also gave me marked improvement.

I’d advise playing with those only as a last resort. Leaving them all ‘off’ while you’re troubleshooting is probably the most effective when pinpointing the issue.

I brought my Euphony PTS server back into the room with my high end gear. The EtherREGEN too. Now the server is plugged into the B port, the Signature Rendu Optical Ethernet feed into the A port along with the connection to the main network. And I brought back that there Matrix device too. It is powered by the lowly Sbooster at the correct 9 volts.

All Ethernet cables are Inakustik. The USB cable and the AES/EBU cables are both Shunyata Sigma. The AES cable plugs into the Gryphon Kalliope DAC. The Stealth Audio USB cable connects the Signature Rendu with the Gryphon DAC as well. I am going to try to determine which sounds better.

Both sound really good to me.

The Bridge II card is in the next room,
The DSD DAC is unplugged and idle.
I feel safe from the Bridge II at last!!
(Kidding)

I tried to resist the Matrix, Farad, RAL forum wisdom.
But « resistance was futile, I have been assimilated » :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I’m going from a fanless linux roonCore right into my Matrix. Is there any value in putting anything in between them? I have another fanless linux mint box and a raspberry pi that I’m looking at right now.

Interesting! I have a very similar set-up.
