New PS Audio speakers?

The DQ10 was the first phase aligned speaker I heard, it was a revelation like that was what I had been searching for. Couldn’t afford them, so I bought a pair of Ultraphase 2001 which had vertically aligned voice coils.

The ONLY way to make sound come from a point in space is to put an acoustic source there. Humans naturally triangulate position by reflection time delays and angles of arrival.

Panned stereo is a cheap learned illusion, here is diagram showing the fallacy of phantom center:

As we add up prices of components the AN-3 is creeping toward $10K anyway.

Well, then with MULTIPLE side firing woofs. AN3=2, AN2=4, AN1=6… Now u have the space, right…:sunglasses:

Paul, Can you provide an estimate of much the AN2 might weigh?

Yup. We have the space and enough to squeeze 6 into the AN-1, 2 into the AN2, and one into the AN3.

No. I really haven’t any idea. A lot, though, definitely a lot.

Anticipation is …

. . . catsup?

Our industrial designer, Chet, sent me this mockup of the AN-1 in a living room. Pretty elegant for a 7 foot tall speaker with 6 12" servo controlled woofers, 20 ribbon tweeters, 7 AMT folded ribbon midrange, 3 8" servo controlled midbass couplers, and close to 4,000 watts of internal amplification.

If you look closely you can see the oval cutouts in the side trim panels for the woofers. Much classier than a grille.

I want a pair of these bad boys.

I thought with the side firing idea they could look like your march 2017 „cartoon“ again, so less tall and without bass drivers on the front…

Maybe you can get a discount !!

Yes, they are now only 10” wide. The “bass drivers” you see are only the 8” midbass couplers. The side firing woofers are in the trim panels.

You realize I have to buy a house to fit around these? Or maybe one with a barn that I can modify to make a music room?

Drool . . . .

What the heck is that white thing on the left side? Looks like a death ray from a 50’s sci-fi movie. Is it to anhialate curious finger pokers?

I immediately wondered about this thing as well.

A photography light. At least one that is often used as a high-end architectural simulacrum of one.

Thanks!

It does not resemble the photography lights I have seen, but I imagine there are all sorts of types.

It’s a good thing they’re that tall, because based on the seating shown (none), you’ll be standing up.

Amazing design Paul!
