New PS Audio speakers?

Love it. My wife liked the first one better, being all too familiar to her.

Are there any mock up pictures etc of the AN2 yet ?

Nothing yet unfortunately. Chet has been working on updating the cabinet mock ups with some new changes for the AN2 and AN1, though things are still in flux.

I’ll bug him again next week once he’s put in some more time on them

Here is an artist rendition Paul offered in post # 178 of this thread.
The side grills were not pictured.
Warning I dreamed last night that Paul was going to make only one AN2, and surprise, just for me. I don’t plan to wake up. So you better move up to the AN1.

I wonder if there is any benefit in spreading the tweeters on the an2 out to pair with the mids

Progress on the pair getting ready for Axpona. It’s going to be a stretch but we’re working our butts off to get these ready for the show. You can see the one midrange cover isn’t yet ready so it’s cardboard and duct taped in.

Here the boys are getting ready to DSP the woofers (now that the servos are working) and midbass coupler. Then, Larry has nearly finished the crossover.

Wow. I am getting super excited!

So, have the speakers actually been played full range? Or just individual drivers tested? Not much time left … I’m still on the fence about going, though I fully admit that I can’t make any judgement on them given they are still in development. My real goal is to see if what I like jibes with what Paul likes speaker wise. Not that I am actively in the market for speakers, but AXPONA is my easiest chance to hear a lot of them.

Speaking of AXPONA, I did see that Vandersteen will have their Model 7 system on display which I’ve been wanting to hear (and only dreaming of affording!) for several years. As a Vandersteen owner it seems appropriate, but the local dealer either won’t or can’t display the 7’s since his store is so small. (Side note on that dealer; he says he is a PS Audio dealer and has been for years but I never saw any PS Audio product in the store and has not been listed as a dealer on the PS website for a very long time). Also saw that the Magnepan 30.7 will be on display at a local Chicago dealer that weekend, not that I would buy those either, but sure is nice to have a listen and be able to translate what reviewers/show goers say about them.

Nice … it runs Paul … wild … more love

Here is a render of the AN-2. this one was showing when we were thinking about a silver trim ring, but we like the look of all wood that you guys have been seeing with the current AN-3 photos.

Beautiful looking speaker. I am thinking that the ring might set things off, be a nice accent, when the front grill is on the speaker.

How tall is the AN2 as pictured.

Thanks Chas

I believe the AN2 is landing around five and a half feet to six feet tall when all is said and done.

As for the ring, I think the wood panels we have on the AN3 are already so beautiful that any accent ring or add-on only detracts from that. But of course looks are highly personal and subjective.

If that’s a 10" woofer opening in the side then 60" would be a good guess.

I’ll take a set.

I defer to your judgement. Especially, since I am looking at an artist rendering; it is hard for me to imagine. The few pictures of the AN3, without a ring, look beautiful to me and I would not install a ring on them.

I can’t wait to hear those babies. How about next Thursday?
Chas

Which dealer will will display the 30.7 ?

I believe that would be Audio Consultants in Evanston.

The opening on the side is for a 12” woofer.

Sorry if it’s been mentioned, but are these bi-wireable? Would love to see a post of the posts
