ONE Music project

matthewnz said I verified that I can play the DVD disc, and also that only Play, Pause and Stop work. That means being stuck listening to the entire disc from start to finish without being able to skip ahead to a specific track.

Can anyone who has burned their own DVD of .wav files verify that none of the track selection keys work?

I’ve made several hundred vinyl rips to DVD using .wav files and the track selection feature works on the PWT.

The PWT can play such discs but it never played them without restrictions. No fast forward, as an example. Depending on how the disc was cut, there may not even be track numbers. It is old technology, soon to be replaced - but when it was new, there was nothing like it that could play these varied formats.

The ONE Music disc was not intended to work in the PWT. We included it as a data disc so you could have a physical download copy of all the tracks, including the encrypted DSD files on the SACD. With that disc you can then copy them to your computer. That was the idea.

From here, you shulod be able to burn them on to a disc with which the PWT is a bit more comfortable.

emailists said I'd like to hear these tracks. unfortunately I paid and wasn't able to download them in 3 attempts.

Did Sean ever get back to you on this? Did you order a physical disc as well?

Thanks Paul. I emailed Scott who forwarded to Sean but haven’t heard back.

He should be contacting you today for help.

BTW, we can now sell in Europe.

After many attempts at downloads of the 2.15GB PCM 176K file I finally was able to successfully download this file late this afternoon by using a VPN to “hide” the download from what appears to be a shape&kill mechanism within Australia’s Telstra BigPond Cable network.

While the DSD file downloaded successfully first time , the much larger PCM file kept being killed-off at around 1.5GB downloaded - due to this shaping mechanism gone awry.

So if you are located in Australia and using Telstra Bigpond cable network be aware that this shape&kill mechanism might prevent the larger download. As normal HTTP downloads are not meant to be shaped let alone killed I will be reporting this to Telstra Support to have the defective shaper fixed. Depending on where this shaper is located in the Telstra network may mean an adverse impact on other Internet users such as ADSL too. Since it is not meant to exist it is difficult to know even where it is !

I especially thank Paul and Sean of PS Audio for their help & assistance in resolving this very unusual situation.

The extended version of this saga is Post 3 in the thread I started on why I was missing an audiophile account - which turned out to be irrelevant to the primary issue of the failed downloads.

Something also I found during testing - if you use Firefox as your browser than I have found the download of files by clicking a link in an Outlook mail to be unreliable - and may also attempt more than 1 download session in Firefox when you click. I find it more reliable to copy the hyperlink contents within the email - and then copy that data into a new browser session. Guaranteed to not create duplicate download sessions in Firefox that way.

It will probably also be another week before I receive my One disk - so I am happy to receive the downloaded files earlier today - even if resolving the problem took a lot of effort. In the longer term I need reliable downloads from the PS Audio download server and this errant shaper will be causing havoc across the Telstra cable network if you meet the trigger conditions - which unfortunately my PCM 176K downloads do. I will report this fault to Telstra Support but may take them a while to actually fix since they will have to admit having such a mechanism in the first instance.

I wonder what is killing my download every time I try. I’m on the east coast US. Never had issues downloading anything, but I’m new to time warner roadrunner as my ISP.

Are you still unable to download? What happens? Maybe the files are too big?

Downloaded it today and all the recordings are fantastic. PS audio should produce more of thesesmile

Thanks! We’ll see how well this one does. So far so good. Appreciate the support.

I just got the disc today. While I haven’t played it on the home system, I did throw it into my Genesis (Ultimate w the Lexicon system) and was absolutely floored by how silent the recording is. The audio quality is truly phenomenal and again, we are not even talking about the SACD layer on my home system. I already especially fond of track 8 though I really like 1 and 7 as well, tbh, I haven’t had a chance to listen front to back yet, but it is absolutely magical. I’m so glad I got it. BTW, had no trouble with downloads, dunno if that’s still an issue for anyone. I will be on the look out for any new albums.

Thanks! This is still my go to recordings for any evaluations I do. Especially Fly.

I would like to purchase the Sonoma Master Series disk - I am in Australia. The page for the product says purchase now and we will ship anywhere in the world. I tried to purchase but the Billing and postal address will only accept an address in the USA so I am not sure what to do next. I want to pay direct with my CC not use PP.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you in advance.

I love this SACD. It’s my go-to source when I’m auditioning gear to match my DS.

Any plans to produce the second (and third, etc) in the series?

Desire, yes, plans, no. But we’d love to.
