Pending Audiophile Demographic Disaster?

Not to worry. Think about how different we are than our 22 year old selves.
Maturity, frontal lobe, whatever develops, over time what appeals to us changes–typically.
I’m not the least bit concerned about the future of hi fi.

I know several people 30’s to 50’s who have serious audio rigs. Maybe it’s an engineer thing. Dunno.

I concur, I just wish I had my 22 year old ears …

This audio stuff is a fad. Just something to do when you aren’t playing PickleBall.

I fell under the spell of audio around the age of ten when my Dad bought a Yamaha separates system. Before that, we just had an all-in-one turntable-amp-speaker!! I was spellbound and would listen to that Yamaha system for hours. I then babysat the neighbours kids as a teenager for nothing, but was given the privilege of being allowed to use their Luxman HiFi system. Wow at the time. I bought my own Linn Sondek speakers and NAD amp, Nakamichi CD player around 21. Asked my new girlfriend to sit in darkness as I played test tracks! She didn’t run away :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: and became my wife. My son (26) is polite when I ask him if he likes the sound. My daughter (24) loves it and wants my superceded gear! You either get it or you don’t. I was stoked when I brought my registrar and his fiancé over for dinner. He was mesmerised by my gear. Let’s hope there are enough in the next generation to enjoy this treasure.

I should clarify that my current system is light years ahead of the NAD, Nakamichi & Linn Sondek set up!!
