My Ortofon Cadenza Bronze has a rated output of 0.4mV. The Stellar Phono Preamp has far more capability than needed to be driven by the Ortofon, even though I use the minimum gain setting on the Stellar.

I’ve used the Ortofon Expression with a rated output of 0.3 mV without problems. My present power amp has 28 dB gain and I use the medium setting. Previously I used a power amp with 20 dB gain and then preferred the high setting.

I own the stellar phono amp and use it for my clear audio innovation turntable with a Clearaudio da Vinci MC. It is attached to a McIntosh 1100 tube preamplifier
The stellar sounds way better than the very nice tube MC preamp of the McIntosh despite the fact that I already substituted the included McIntosh tubes with some better ones.
Having said that I really look forward to the new PW phono amp hoping not only to an additional improvement in sound but also in usability as the stellar phono preamp sounds already great, but the display of the settings is useless, you cannot see any setting (gain, MC/MM, resistance) unless you are less than 1meter in front of the device (at least me as 50+…)
So is there any information when the new PW phono amp will be available? Will there be a trade in for my stellar phono amp?

Since this post is already one year old, I am wondering if there has been any update in between…
I am planning to buy a new phono preamp but I want to to have all balanced inputs and outputs and also a current sensing mode instead of the classic voltage driven mode with capacitive and resistive loading. Here, I think the CH Precision P1 is pretty good (but too expensive) or the Lino 3.3.
Would be good to know if and when PSA will be releasing their new phono preamp…

I am in a similar position in wondering about the new PW phono preamp. It’s gone very quiet about this which I can understand with the FR30 launch. However, it would be great to have some sort of update as I’d hate to buy something else and then find the PW phono will be launched soon after!
