Preamp suggestions?

@weedeewop Actually, I will be in the Madison area in mid October. I’ll be returning from a week of visiting Wisconsin resorts (Kohler, Fish Creek, and Sand Valley) with my wife and another couple. I’d love to stop by to at least say “Hi” and listen to a few minutes of good sound on your audio system, but I’m not sure my travel partners will want to humor my audio obsession. (My wife’s idea of great sound is airbuds that aren’t broken.) Of course, I have no idea whether you would have any availability on the day we’re traveling through the Madison area.

Hmm. Just got the email about the refurbished items available. Stellar Gold preamp available for $3000 plus $1000 trade in allowance. That’s really tempting. Anyone out there with experience with this preamp willing to share their take?

Are you sure some of these offers include the extra discount allowance for trade-ins? I don’t see that offer on the refurbished page (nor do I see the Stellar Gold preamp offered on that page). That would be a great offer.

:man_shrugging:

Pretty sure it was listed in the original email. Still have that link but the Stellar Gold isn’t there anymore, just the standard Stellar preamp still there. And that shows a trade in allowance available as well. Either the Gold preamp was listed in error or they are all gone already. Not surprised as it was a very attractive offer. Goes to show that quantities are probably limited.

Does anyone here have experience or opinions concerning the Coda 07x preamp? This one is new to me but I’ve read some positive opinions online.

Audio Achron in Libertyville outside of Chicago carries Coda. I suggest you give Mike Kay a call.

I’ve had Coda in the past, very similar to Threshold. Recently I went for the Pass Labs XP-22 over Coda 07x.
