Private Concert

#1

Doug Macleod stopped by for a private concert last night and I had a front row seat. The admission price was $24.98 paid to Acoustic Sounds for the DSD recording. It sounded so nice that Eric Clapton & some very talented friends also visited and did a great tribute to J.J. Cale. It doesn’t get much better then this! Thanks PS Audio! 77_gif

Diana Krall stopped by my man cave last night…just left singing “Walk of Shame” …

All this talk makes me glad that I didn’t play any Rob Zombie last night.

I didn't think of that! Even though I don't care for her music maybe I should have tried some Katy Perry. Naw my wife would kill me!cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon_gif

Teddy Charles Tentet was just in my room. Man, how did they do that concert in MONO? :)

It is a lost performance skill many used to possess.

I LOVE Doug MacLeod! All his stuff is at least really good, most of it great!

You can only imagine the mess I had to clean up when the Rolling Stones left my room…

At the present time i have 750 hrs burned in my DS

Did you notice this with DS when you listen to hi volume, everiting is ok, bass, 3D image, the realistic, all is perfect

When i lower the volume, the magic soundstage, is very poor.

The PWD at very low volume, all is in order, image, sounstage, 3D bass, is excellent.

I miss the sound effects, at low volume

What do you think.

When you listen at low volume (say less than 60 on the volume control) instead use the attenuator (press the “filter” button on the remote) and use a higher volume setting.

I.e. Volume = 55 and attenuator off is about the same as Volume = 95 with attenuator on.

I use a Mark Levinson 380s Preamp

My DS volume il all at 100

I do not have that issue at all. shaking-head-no-smiley-emoticon_gif

Un autre propriétaire de DS et membre de ce forum québécois, Ghyslain que Gordon connaît a remarquer la même chose

A faible volume il y a plus la magie du PWD

Did you try my suggestion? Or are you listening to levels above 60 and still feel that something is missing? (Or perhaps I misunderstood the machine translation of your message?)

#17

I love my DSD . I dont return to my PWD

Its a remarq. At low volume …the magic soundstage is not here. With the PWD …at low volume the magic soundstage its here.

yesturday, dire strait is on my room, just for me. Wow wow wow, its wonderful

Wait till about 700 hours. I know that is a lot of break-in, but damn, it just KEEPS GETTIN’ BETTER!cant-believe-my-eyes-smiley-emoticon_gifdrinking-39_gifhappy-132_gif

I too thought the lack of ‘magic’ at lower volumes might be due to a lack of break-in – but he said in his original post that he has 750 hours on his DS. Mine’s got about 400 and is still improving. We’ll see how long this continues. happy-090_gif
