PS Audio 5.5 Pre Amp w/ M-500 power supply

My pleasure. What fun. And, we still make some really cool stuff, but back then we didn’t have all the tools we have today. It was all hand done by me, mostly with a rzor blade and tape for the PCBs.

Hey Paul - your vintage stuff is very cool and speaks directly to the culture of your company - well designed pieces that enhance the experience of enjoying music, through the technology and user experience, both the gear AND the people!

HAND WIRED AND LETTERED?!!!? Well now if I ever sell this thing I’m using that in the marketing material!!! “Made by hand by Paul M himself!!”. It’s a great bit of kit, and has been a great compliment for my rebuilt Adcom GFA-555, the industrial look and feel are perfect. But, I’m saving my sheckles for a newer PS DAC. Thank you for all you do Paul.

Great topic since I acquired a “5.7 STEREO PREAMPLIFIER.” My 5.7 front looks nothing like AMTPROD’s 5.5. On the board is 5.7 PREAMPLIFIER COPYRIGHT 1993. The power supply is a PARALINE #4183 03-94. Unless I fly out to Boulder from Connecticut and walk through the PSA museum I have no idea the era of my 5.7 to amtprod’s 5.5. I haven’t yet tested it on one of my vintage receivers. But I will. Should I be aware of any known issues? It is very clean inside. All the caps appear in good shape. I like to hear back about anything I should do to this 30+ year old gem. Thanks all.
